Maison Krug was founded in 1843 by Joseph Krug, a visionary with an uncompromising philosophy. His dream was to create the best champagne possible every year, regardless of climatic variations. He achieved this vision by paying particular attention to the character of the vineyard, respecting the individuality of each plot and its wine, and building up a vast library of reserve wines from different years. Combining so many wines and years produces a richness of flavors and aromas impossible to express with the wines of a single year. Since then, six generations of the Krug family have pursued this dream, enriching the vision and know-how of the House's founder.
