Maison Krug was founded in 1843 by Joseph Krug, a visionary guided by an uncompromising philosophy. His dream was to create the best possible champagne every single year, regardless of climatic variations. He achieved this by paying close attention to the unique character of each vineyard plot and its wine, while building a vast library of reserve wines from different years.
Blending such a diversity of wines and vintages results in a richness of flavors and aromas that a single year alone could never express. This vision gave birth to the first Krug Grande Cuvée, the most generous expression of champagne. Since then, six generations of the Krug family have carried forward this dream, enriching the founder’s vision and expertise.
